Dry suit survey - Coltrisub

WET n DRY Dry suit survey

Distributor: Submarine Manufacturing & Products 01772 687775.
First Impressions: What a whopper! Big, heavy, tough and with no frills apparent. An old-fashioned, solid, commercial-style suit. No pockets. A heavy-duty suit for a heavy-duty person.
Material and Construction: 7mm neoprene. Taped seams with chunky stitching. It looks unbreakable. It has a short neoprene collar.
Boots: Neoprene-lined Hunter boots.
Zip: Mediumweight without comfort flap or outside protector. A suit like this deserves a heavy-duty zip.
Seals: Conical latex wrist seals and latex bellows neck seal.
Wrist Seal Contact Length: 4cm.
Knee Pads: Kevlar.
Valves: Fixed Sitec inflation valve and Sitec auto dump.
Notable Other Features: None and yet everything you need!
Ease of Dressing: A very contoured fit. It took three of us to get Gerry into it. Marks: two out of ten. Not easy but it would definitely suit a macho diver.
In The Water: It fitted like a glove. It was as tight as a wetsuit. I would have had great difficulty replacing a fin under water if I had needed to. Its material felt as if it had insufficient give. It featured effortless inflation and it dumped air perfectly.
Approx. Weight: 5kg.
Made-to-Measure: Yes.
Tested by: Gerry Gooch.
