Dry suit survey - Scubapro

WET n DRY Dry suit survey

Distributor: Scubapro UK 01256 812636.
First Impressions: A high-quality offering. A very attractive and robust-looking neoprene suit.
Material and Construction: Hi-tech 4mm compressed Ti-ax Thermocote neoprene with very complex stitching that seems to be very well executed. All seams are taped on the inside and reinforced with liquid polymer.
Boots: Neoprene-lined boots, well-integrated with the legs of the suit. Fin retainer.
Zip: Mediumweight with inner comfort flap and outer protective flap of the same material as the suit.
Seals: Conical latex wrist seals with neoprene cuffs over. Conical neck seal with neoprene collar over.
Wrist Seal Contact Length: 3cm.
Knee Pads: Long, attractive-looking rubber.
Valves: Unique Scubapro rotating high flow-rate inflation valve with side push activation. Scubapro auto dump without ratchet action. It looks like a Navy mine! Plastic collar over direct-feed connection.
Notable Other Features: Non-slip material at shoulders, and seat. Stitched-in braces with quick-release buckle. One small thigh pocket with hole for lanyard.
Ease of Dressing: A very snug fit for an XL. I used it with the minimum of undersuit. It fitted like a glove.
In The Water: Certainly with the most comfortable hood ever. Side pressure for the inflation button seemed most natural even after 20 years of pushing front buttons. Excellent! For a slim, lean neoprene-suit user, its well worth considering. As easy to swim in as a wetsuit. The plastic collar fell off the inflation hose.
Approx. Weight: 6.6kg.
Made-to-Measure: Stock sizes only.
Tested by: George Buxton.
