The aim of the 10-night trip on Fiji Siren is “to highlight global issues facing sharks, with a Fijian focus, as well as enjoying some of the most exciting dive-sites that Fiji has to offer,” says the tour operator.

In fact it seems the focus will be not just on sharks but on finding and diving with their relatives the manta rays.

The boat leaves from Volivoli Beach Resort on Vita Levu and navigates the Bligh Waters with existing Red Sea Project Shark trip host Dr Elke Bojanowski to lead the dives and conduct seminars.

Divers will be encouraged to contribute to Manta Trust research efforts on the trip.

The price of £3760pp covers full board and diving (on nitrox if certified) and equipment  hire. Flights and transfers can also be arranged on request.
